Whilst Australian hardwood decking has a charm & beauty all of its own and looks great when it’s been regularly oiled, many people prefer to allow their decks to “weather” off to give it that silvey-grey look.
Grey Ironbark hardwood decking is a wonderful timber prouct that is highly suited to “weathering off”. It has a very high natural durability, remaining quite stable, and will fade to a nice natural silver-grey appearance over time, ensuring you will get many years of service (without the regular application of decking oil).
Spotted gum, Tallowwood and Blackbutt are also high natural durability timbers that may also be suitable.
