A Native of California, this timber is now widely grown across the world as a plantation species. Its most common use is for house framing but is also widely used for flooring, wall and ceiling lining, joinery, furniture manufacture, and plywoods.
Although it is of low natural durability, Radiata Pine is also commonly treated with chemicals to make it resistant to fungus and termite attack ensuring it is quite suitable for outdoor use.
It is one of the most abundant and cheapest timbers available in Australia.
