Common names are Oregon or Douglas Fir, this timber is widely grown in plantations in North America and generally quite readily available.
Uses include furniture, structural applications where the timber has some protection from the weather, lining boards and was for a long time used for fascia boards but that has now changed with Treated Pine being used in more recent years.
