Armstrong Creek (Pencil Park)
“Pencil Park” – Armstrong Creek
The Armstrong Creek works was part of a “Villawood Properties” residential subdivision project located between Geelong & Torquay in Victoria. The park has since been named “Pencil Park”.
Spotted Gum & Blackbutt timbers combine to give a highly attractive and durable finish to this oustanding recreation zone.
By locating Blackbutt logs at varying angles and capping with painted metal cones, striking “Pencil Poles’ have been created (giving the park its name) and a 200 x 200 Spotted Gum swing gantry are both features of the play area.
An ornamental lake with metal sculptures of fish and local birdlife is complimented by a Spotted Gum boardwalk along its northern shoreline.
The BBQ shelter was built with steel framework and clad with Spotted Gum & Blackbutt timber sections which will ensure many years of service.
Street furniture components (BBQ’s, picnic tables & seating) utilize custom machined profiles in Spotted Gum to round out the building elements.
